Privacy Policy

This page explains what information I collect through this website, why I collect it, and what I do with it.

Who I am

This website is run by Lara Small. If you have any questions about this policy or how your information is handled, you can contact me at hello@larasmall.co.uk.

Information you provide

There are two ways you might share your details with me through this site:

  • The contact form. If you get in touch via the contact form, I ask for your first name, last name, email address, an optional phone number, and your message. This is sent directly to my inbox so I can reply to you, and is protected by hCaptcha to help prevent spam.
  • Free resource sign-up forms. On some pages you can request a free PDF (such as my Top 10 Tips guides) by providing your name and email address. These forms are provided by MailerLite. You’ll receive a confirmation email to opt in before anything is sent (double opt-in), and you’ll be added to my mailing list so I can send the resource and occasional updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email you receive from me.

Website analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to help me understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are popular and roughly where visitors are coming from. This information is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally. Analytics are only enabled if you choose to accept Statistics cookies through the Cookie Settings.

Cookies

This site uses a small number of cookies. You can review and change what you consent to at any time using the Cookie Settings link at the bottom of every page. The categories used are:

  • Functional – cookies needed for the site to work properly.
  • Preferences – cookies that remember choices you’ve made on the site.
  • Statistics – used only if you accept, to enable Google Analytics.
  • OpenStreetMap – used only where a page on this site displays an embedded map.

Spam protection

The contact form on this site is protected by hCaptcha, a service that helps distinguish real visitors from automated spam. hCaptcha may process some technical information about your visit as part of this check.

Why I process your information

I process your information either because you’ve asked me to do something with it, such as reply to your enquiry or send you a free resource, or because I have a legitimate interest in keeping the site running smoothly and securely. Website analytics are only processed where you have given your consent through the Cookie Settings.

How long I keep your information

I keep contact form enquiries for as long as is reasonably necessary to deal with them and any follow-up. If you sign up for a free resource, I’ll keep your details on my mailing list until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • Ask what information I hold about you
  • Ask me to correct inaccurate information
  • Ask me to delete your information
  • Ask me to restrict how I use your information
  • Object to how I use your information
  • Ask for a copy of your information in a portable format

To exercise any of these rights, just get in touch at hello@larasmall.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you have concerns about how your information is handled.

This site uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policy:

  • Google Analytics 4 – for anonymous website analytics (subject to your consent)
  • MailerLite – managing free resource sign-ups and my mailing list
  • hCaptcha – spam protection on the contact form
